ABOUT KATHY KENNEDY QUILTS
Artist's Statement
I have enjoyed working with colorful fabrics since my mother taught me to sew when I was a pre-teen. I have been sewing all my life but only began to make quilts in 2009.
I began creating art quilts in 2019 and that is currently my focus. I use a variety of methods, including fabric collage and applique.
I also create One Block Wonder quilts using artist Ira Kennedy's fabric panels. This method creates beautiful kaleidoscope blocks that surround the panel. (Ira is my husband.)

Exhibitions
November 1-5, 2023 - International Quilt Festival
Houston, Texas
Two of my quilts, "Sunflower Dreamscapes" and "Serenity", were included in the "In Full Bloom" exhibit. These quilts will also travel to summer shows.
February 25-March 26, 2023 - The Llano Connection
Llano, Texas
The Llano Connection Exhibit at the Llano Fine Art Guild & Gallery. My quilt "Butterfly and Blue Mistflower" was on exhibit. The Potters, Painters, Sculptors and Visionaries of the Llano Art Guild were featured in this exhibition of local artists.
September 3-4, 2022 - Vereins Quilt Show
Fredericksburg, Texas
Three of my quilts were on exhibit. "Sunflower Dreamscapes" won a Third Place ribbon for small/pieced category, and a "Best" ribbon for Best Quilt Representing the Theme of the Show which was "Quilted Field of Dreams."
February 14-15, 2020 - Highland Lakes Quilt Show
Burnet, Texas
Three of my quilts were on exhibit.
November 2019 - Western Trappings on the Llano
Llano, Texas
My quilt "Texas Beauty" was on exhibit at this Western art exhibit at the Llano Historical Museum.
March 29-30, 2019 - Wildflowers in Bloom Quilt Show
Llano, Texas
Five of my quilts were on exhibit. A Blue ribbon was awarded for my quilt "Dreamscape".
November 2018 - Western Trappings on the Llano
Llano, Texas
My quilt "Stormy" was on exhibit and sold.
October 2017 - Calamity & Grace
Llano, Texas
My quilts were on exhibit along with the art of Ira Kennedy.
